For January 8, the first day of CES 2018, you’re listening to The Wrap, Australia’s fastest technology round-up, and this week we’re reporting and recording live from Las Vegas, where all the technology is being announced.

If it has to do with electronics and tech and gadgets and stuff, there’s a pretty strong chance that you’re going to see it this week, and we’re going to be reporting on it throughout the week.

Three smart TCL models set to hit Australia by May with more to come.

While there’s plenty of other news coming out of CES, it remains the place to launch TVs, and that’s exactly what TCL has done at its media launch ahead of the opening of CES 2018 tomorrow.

The top of the range that we’ll see in Australia will come in the form of the 85 inch Premium QLED Private Theatre X6, a $19,999 TV that TCL claims is the world’s thinnest TV featuring local dimming technology.

I have to admit, I’m a bit of a home Hi-Fi junky. Next to Android and IoT gear, I think it’s my next biggest guilty pleasure. TCL has had big turn-out at CES 2018, with a great line-up of Smart TVs being launched on stage.

Usually after major announcements at overseas trade shows, we’re left wondering what (if anything) might come to Australia; at least insofar as TCL TVs are concerned, you need wonder no more. TCL has confirmed that the 85″ Premium QLED Private Theatre X6 TV, QUHD Android TV C6 series and QUHD Android TV P6 series are all coming to Australia, as a starter.

CES 2018: TCL to release QLED TV with $20k price tag

TCL is pushing into the ultra-premium TV market with its latest 85” Premium QLED Private Theatre X6 that will sport a price tag of $19,999 in Australia via limited retail distribution from March 2018.

It integrates the latest QLED and AI technologies, supports Dolby Vision and features Quantum Dot technology. At 24.8 mm wide at the thinnest part of the body, the X6 is the thinnest TV above 80” that applies local dimming technology.
